Ladakh “Pure passion of a traveller”. A dream place where everyone wants to go at least once in a life time. Ladakh can be defined as a high-altitude plateau or a cold desert in Eastern himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian portion of Ladakh  comprises of Leh and Kargil Districts. Ladakh has everything – picturesque and scenic views, snow capped Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges, lush green valleys, sheer lakes, monists and much more. Not to be missed, Ladakh is a heaven for bikers and bikers can be spotted everywhere during the peak season. Though visiting Ladakh is bit expensive but its worth spending. No special permit is required to visit most of the Ladakh though foreigners require permission to visit the inner areas which can be acquired in Leh town (no need to acquire it while applying  for Indian visa). Permission is not granted to the foreigners to go close to the borders or line of control with Pakistan and China. For Indian nationals there is no need to take permit before going to the inner line area. Any valid ID proof issued by the Indian government like passport, pan card, Aadhar card etc will serve the purpose.

The pressure of tourism can cause to the local resource, so the concept of “ Eco-tourisum” has  been introduced in Ladakh by few NGO’s. Visitors are asked to reduce waste and water consumption and promoted to use more of environmental options like “home stays” where tourists or trekkers are asked to stay with the local families in the village the pass instead of bringing or carrying tents and supplies on horses or donkeys because of the limited vegetation.

How to reach
