Nainital is situated at an altitude of 1938 mts above the sea level. The name has been derived from Nani Lake which is one of the prominent spot for tourists of Nainital. It is located in the region of Kumaon and is commonly known as Lake District of India. Kathgodam is the nearest railway station for Nainital which is situated at the distance of 41Kms. It is well connected via all railway networks with major destinations of India like Delhi, Kolkata and Lucknow. Trains are quite frequent to the Kathgodam which is considered as one of gateway to the Kumaon region. There are two trains which are running on daily basis from Delhi to Kathgodam and vice-versa.

  • Via Bus/Car

It is well connected via motorable roads and is linked with major destinations of the Northern India. It is only 1 hours drive from Kathgodam .You could either take a bus or taxi from Kathgodam to reach Nainital. Most of the travellers who are commuting to Nainital commence from Delhi. The distance between Delhi to Nainital is 320 Kms which could be covered with 9hours drive and it is connected with NH87. Buses for Nainital are available from ISBT Anand Vihar.
