- Via Train
It is connected with Chennai via an electric broad gauge railway line via Villupuram. There are 2 passenger trains which are running on daily basis to Chennai Egmore railway station and Tirupati. Even there is a weekly express train service to Bhuwneshwar.
- Via Taxi/Car
It is well connected from all sides. Chennai is located 160Km North of the city and getting to Pondicherry involves a 3 hours journey via Chennai. One could get the bus via CMBT in Koyambedu or Guindy or Thiruvanmiyur. You could be sure to get the seat from CMBT at Koyambedu. Even you have the option of taking the taxi from the airport. The route from Chennai to Pondicherry which is known as the ECR is full with its scenic highway and a normal journey can take just 3 hours time duration. Another route which could be taken to reach Pondi would be via the NH 45which is also known as GST road. From Bangalore it is just 320Km. It gets connected to GST or NH-45 (at two locations).
