RISHIKESH – Place of Sagas

Rishikesh is referred to as the birth place of yoga and a common place where people do come to meditate along with learning things about Hinduism. It is situated on the banks of river Ganges which is surrounded via three sides with mountains which is not far from Haridwar in Uttarakhand. How to reach Rishikesh?

Jolly Grant Airport at Dehradun is the nearest airport which is handling flights from Delhi and the runway is being extended and then would be able to handle flight from other metro places as well.

It is having quite less direct trains and the best options suggested is that you reach Haridwar which is just 35Km from Rishikesh. As Haridwar is well connected with all the cities, so travelling would be easy and simple without any worry. From Haridwar you could either move via bus or cab whichever is convenient for you.

  • Via Road /Car

If you are in Delhi then driving from Delhi by your own car would be a wonderful experience and as it would be hassle free experience. It’s just 6 to 7 hours drive and its recommended that you should try to leave around 4 to 5 am as driving time does increases beyond 6 hours due to morning congestions in towns such as Roorkee and Modinagar.
